Aitch Conversation has successfully bid for South Pennine Leader Funding which will enable us to increase our capabilities in peatland restoration.
The £130,000 grant will be invested in additional specialist equipment, including a specially converted low ground pressure excavator, an alpine tractor and a high tip flail collector which will give the team greater capabilities in peat damming, reprofiling and bunding, and vegetation management including heather harvesting, molinia control and fire break cutting.
We are also currently expanding the team to include additional conservation works operatives and back office staff to meet the increasing demands on our moorland conservation operation.
